Cayman Prep and High School

Cayman Prep and High School (CPHS) is a private, co-educational primary and high school located in George Town, Grand Cayman, owned and operated by the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Established in 1949, it serves children approximately aged 4–18 across separate primary and high school campuses.

Age Range and Curriculum

  • Ages served: Kindergarten (around age 4) through Year 13 (approx. age 18)
  • Curriculum: Based on the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE/GCSE, AS and A-Level qualifications.
    • Early Years and Primary follow Key Stages 1–2
    • Middle School (Years 7–9): UK National Curriculum (Key Stage 3)
    • High School: IGCSE in Years 10–11, A-Levels in Years 12–13

  • Class sizes: Up to 25 pupils per class in primary; high school classes vary (8–18 depending on ability grouping), with around 75 students per year divided into multiple forms

  • Each campus includes playing fields, assembly halls, libraries, ICT suites, science labs, music and arts rooms, and technology-integrated classrooms

School Hours

  • Primary (KG–Year 6): Drop-off between 7:30–7:45 am; school starts at 7:45 am. Finish times vary: roughly 2:15 pm (KG) to 2:30 pm (Years 3–6)
