Island Life and Culture |

|
Never before have we had so much to enjoy. Yet it seems it has always been that way; so much has remained the same. Making our debut as an industry over 20 years ago, the islands' claim to fame was beautiful people, clean waters and beaches, an unassuming but obvious high standard of living (the highest in the Caribbean), and a secure and balanced Government. Few places in the world can boast these elements, these which make the Cayman Islands unique. If you're looking for culture, you're right in the middle of it. The Caymanian's art of building homes (even the colors used to paint them), their lifestyle, way of speaking in a 'sing-song' dialect, favorite past-times including music, and customs that have been passed down from generation to generation, all come together once you get into it. Cayman offers an abundance of services to its own. Social services, school grants and loans for both Colleges and Universities in Cayman and abroad, sports arenas and parks. As do the private business sector (also sponsoring of many local sports teams and activities). Clubs, organizations and churches enjoy the social aspect and contribute magnificently with services ranging from helping the needy to island-wide clean-up campaigns and health promotions. So what do we do when we are not working? Besides family life, many of us enjoy schooling, sports and various functions. Then there are also the same past-times that you enjoy, like dining, relaxing, fishing, exercising and traveling, but most of all, we thoroughly enjoy the intrigue of our beaches and water. Business people enjoy the professional side of Cayman for many multi-financial attributes. High and sturdy regulations set by Government leave an atmosphere conducive to effective and secure business transactions. Constantly in the limelight, Grand Cayman proves its reputation and accountability beyond doubt. This small island boasts over 500 registered banks, adding to the prestige of being one of the leading financial business centers in the world. Highly advanced telecommunications and frequent airline services court this area strongly, indeed, the high-scale clientele that we host demand it. Situated so close to the United States, the Cayman Islands maintains an individuality that has continually charmed visitors from around the world. We have come a long way. Once called "The Islands that time forgot", prosperity and technology have done little to change our best feature - us. |
